When Art Lights Up the Night: A Celebration of Light & Movement in the International Dance VillageThu | Dec 18
Dates and Times
The kibbutz dance troupe and the members of the Collective from Ga’aton invite you to a celebration of art that connects movement, light, and creation, as part of Western Galilee Now’s annual Winter Festival.
A unique evening at Kibbutz Ga’aton, the fifth candle of Hanukkah, which includes a performance by the kibbutz dance troupe and new works by the members of the Collective created especially for the occasion: spectacular light displays that offer a fresh and unique interpretation of the subject of light. The evening will also include a tour of the kibbutz artists’ galleries ― an intimate experience between works, spaces, and light.
You are invited to join us for a nocturnal experience full of art:
6 pm ― Gathering
6:15 pm ― Gallery tours
7:15 pm ― Tour of light shows throughout the dance village
8 pm ― An engrossing rhythm show with the best repertoire of the kibbutz dance troupe, with audience participation and performed by kibbutz troupe 2 dancers
At the center of the evening is the combination between contemporary art and dance, and between the local community and the audience of visitors ― A multidisciplinary experience that combines emotion, power, and beauty.
The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company ― was founded by the late Judith Arnon (Bride of the Israel Prize) in 1970 in Kibbutz Ga’aton in the Western Galilee. The company operates under the artistic direction of Rami Be’er and is considered one of the most unique and prominent contemporary dance companies in the world and regularly performs at international festivals and on prestigious and important stages in Israel and around the world.
The Collective ― a group of artists from different creative fields who explore light as an artistic, emotional, and philosophical element. Through their works, they invite the audience to a renewed observation of the meaning of light especially in dark times, and to an exciting encounter between plastic art, space, and movement.
