Three women, three worlds, and one gathering in the heart of Old Akko. We begin with art and a conversation with sculptor Yael Netanel, move to the kitchen of Beit Elfarasha—where Khadija Abed El-Ghani will host us for a traditional Akko-style cooking workshop and a rich meal—and end with a sweet encounter with Tina Khativ, founder of the Malabi House. Afterward, you will have time to explore the vibrant market of Old Akko on your own.

11 am Art & Personal Stories with Yael Netanel

We will meet at the Western Galilee Now Information Center, which is currently hosting the sculpture exhibition “Hidden Garden”. In a gallery talk with sculptor Yael Netanel, we will explore her work—which delves into the connection between humanity and nature, as well as themes of memory and longing. Yael will share insights into her creative process and the strength art gave her during the war.

12 pm Entering the Kitchen of Beit Elfarasha

Just a few minutes’ walk through the alleyways of the Old City, Khadija Abed El-Ghani awaits us, ready to host a cooking workshop within a stunning, renovated Ottoman-era house. Over the course of two hours, we will explore the cuisine of Akko through the personal story of Khadija and the dishes she loves to prepare: a wintery lentil soup; fatayer filled with spinach, onion, and sumac; musakhan rolls wrapped in Druze flatbread (available with chicken or as a vegetarian option); matbucha made with smoked eggplant; a seasonal salad; and homemade pickles.

2:10 pm A Sweet Encounter at the Malabi House

We will meet Tina Khativ, who established the beloved Malabi House in the heart of the market, and taste a malabi unlike any other in the country. We will hear her inspiring personal story and learn about the journey that led her to launch her own business and bring a fresh, new take on this classic dessert.

2:40 pm Time to Wander the Market

We will conclude the sessions with some free time to wander through the alleyways, stalls, and vibrant colors of the market in Old Akko.

Price: 250 NIS per person, including a cooking workshop, lunch, and a serving of malabi.
