At the edge of the Druze village of Hurfeish—overlooking an expansive Galilean landscape from a beautiful terrace—Safta Maha awaits you with a table laden with delicious offerings, traditional dishes, and heartfelt hospitality.

As winter arrives, the air turns crisp, and the landscape takes on deep, rich hues; nothing beats gathering around a home-style table to enjoy food cooked with love. Safta Maha opens her home and invites you to discover Druze cuisine through traditional dishes, recipes passed down through generations, and flavors that linger in your memory.

The table will feature Druze specialties such as freekeh, mujaddara, wild fennel with lentils, or chicory with caramelized onions, along with stuffed grape leaves, cabbage, and zucchini, and homemade hummus. The meal’s centerpiece will be mansaf with veal, served alongside kebab patties in sauce with vegetables, or arayes (grilled stuffed pitas) filled with chicken breast.

To whet your appetite, you may choose a warm soup—lentil, spinach, or vegetable—and the meal will conclude with homemade cookies served alongside hot beverages. Come to Hurfeish for a rich, home-cooked meal and a view of the wintry Galilean landscape. You’ll meet Safta Maha, who infuses every dish with the flavors and traditions of her home.
