How To Turn A Shadow Into A Great Light: Gallery Talk with Inspiring Recycling ArtistsFri | Dec 19
Dates and Times
A fascinating and hopeful meeting with two sustainable artists that includes an artist talk, viewing of a joint work created in honor of a winter festival, warm winter refreshments, and an exhibition of their works.
Paula Rykin and Yigal Rosenblatt, two recycling artists from Mount Gilon, live and breathe the belief that there is always a way to turn trash into art, and shadow into light.
The last two years have not been easy for all of us. For Paula and Yigal, the pursuit of recycling, the ability to find beauty and value in items that others have already given up on, has become an act of hope. A declaration that even when it is difficult ― it is possible, and that even in the darkest shadow, there are points of light.
At the meeting, you will hear behind-the-scenes stories of their works, discover how the recycling process becomes a metaphor for life itself, and see for the first time a new collaborative work they created especially for the event ― including photographs from the creative process and stories about the magic that is born when artists join forces.
The meeting will take place in Yigal’s studio and is a great opportunity to meet the works of the two creators from all their years of activity. You are invited to indulge in warm winter refreshments, take a closer look at the works, and get to know the people behind them.
After the meeting, it will be possible to purchase works and hear more about any work that intrigues you.
Come meet two creators who believe that each of us is a small light, and together ― we are an even stronger light.
