In preparation for Christmas, which falls on December 25, the village of Mi’ilya prepares itself for the holiday. The municipality is busy decorating the streets, the residents are busy decorating the houses and yards, and the clergy is placing a large fir tree in the church square, which they will light every evening, in a very impressive and bright ceremony, and the excitement is contagious!!
This is the best time to visit the fascinating village of Mi’ilya located in the heart of the Galilee and feel a taste of being abroad here in Israel!Â
On the Program:
- Meeting in the church square and a general explanation of the village’s history
- A visit to the impressive village church and a conversation with one of the community leaders
- Visit the fortress of the crusader king
- A tour of the core of the village
- A visit to a beautifully preserved ancient house that will include tastings
- Visiting magnificent archaeological remains found in the village
- A visit and meeting at the Arak distillery, and the tobacco house – where we will hear about the cultivation of tobacco, and everything about the Arak distillation, from which we will also taste…
Duration of the tour, walking distances, and level of difficulty: the tour will last two and a half hours, the walking route is short – about 1.5 km and the level of difficulty is easy. There are several steps, and the walking trend is moderate.
Participation in the tour requires registration and payment in advance.
