A Day of Carving & Flavors in the Galilee
18.12Friday
A winter day in the Galilee: a crackling bonfire, a fresh block of wood in your hands, and poyke (stew cooked in a cast-iron pot) simmering. Join wood artist Amos in Yodfat to step away from the daily routine, learn to carve your own wooden spoon with traditional tools, and enjoy a hot meal outdoors.
As you carve, the poyke cooks over the fire, letting you fully immerse yourself in the craft, the unhurried pace, and the scent of wood in the air. By the end of the day, you’ll head home with a handmade wooden spoon, a full belly, and the warm, pleasant feeling of a winter day spent creating and discovering.
The workshop takes place in an open-air setting—nestled between natural woodland and an orchard—within a covered area protected from the rain.
Heating is provided, though the real warmth comes from the act of crafting itself.
Tea, coffee, and light snacks—naturally.
A winter experience blending craftsmanship, fire, and good food—exactly what a day in the Galilee should be.
Price: 180 NIS per person, 340 NIS per couple (or a parent and child). The price includes creating a cooking spoon and a hot serving of poyke.
Notes: Suitable for ages 14 and up; a protected space (shelter) is available; accessible parking is located on-site.
