Light on the Water: An Artist’s Talk
Yuvalim
19.12Saturday
As winter deepens, glass artist Ariel Aravot invites you to a warm, light-filled gathering at his new studio in Koranit.
The session will begin with a brief introduction to the world of glass, accompanied by a short demonstration by Ariel. Afterward, we will gather around a custom-built, 3.5-meter-diameter pool the artist created. Each participant will receive a floating candle—crafted from recycled materials and filled with Galilean olive oil—which we will set afloat to form a collective circle of light. As the water moves, the candles will drift and rotate, creating an ever-changing display of light and reflections.
Amid the candles’ movement and the play of light, we will sit down for an open, intimate artist’s talk, accompanied by hot drinks and light refreshments—our way of marking the end of the Winter Festival and the year’s shortest days.
Perfect for those seeking a calm, simple, and connecting interlude in the heart of the Galilee.
Price: 50 NIS per person; children up to age 7 – free. Includes light refreshments.
Notes: Protected space available; accessible (note: there is one step up to the restrooms).
