How to Find Affordable Accommodation in Jerusalem
There is a widespread misconception that finding comfortable accommodation in Jerusalem costs a proverbial arm and a leg. It’s certainly true that luxury accommodation is a big player in Jerusalem’s hotel scene, but there are also a wealth of affordable options that will provide you with comfort, great location and value at a reasonable price. You just have to know where to look.

You can also check out Jerusalem’s newest hostel, The Post, located in the heart of downtown Jerusalem. Alongside comfortable and very cool dorms and private rooms, The Post is also chalk-full of fun stuff, including a movie theater and a bar, and it hosts a variety of events — from lectures and meetups to concerts — that are enriching, fun and a great chance to meet some locals.

Hostels
Many people think of hostels as accommodation meant for backpackers in Europe or Asia, but the game has changed over the years, and many hostels today offer comparable comfort standards to hotels at a fraction of the price and with a much livelier communal atmosphere.

If you’re a single traveler who’s not too shy, you can grab a dorm bed for around 100-120 NIS per night, and private rooms start at around 300 NIS.
Agron Hostel

If you’re looking for a bit more privacy, but don’t want to compromise on location and price, then check out Agron Hostel on the border between downtown Jerusalem and the neighborhood of Rechavia. A member of Hostelling International, Agron offers simple rooms in various sizes and a serene atmosphere at affordable prices. It’s only 5-10 minutes by foot from downtown Jerusalem, Mamilla Mall, the Old City and many other Jerusalem attractions.
Vacation Rentals
Hotels always offer a range of services and amenities meant to make a vacation easier on the nerves, but sometimes all you need is a nice place to stay. Vacation apartment rentals are perfect for these situations, and often you can rent an entire apartment — with a full kitchen, dining room and other amenities — for the price of a hotel room.
